Multi-value has never looked this good!
DesignBAIS is a functionally rich toolset that allows developers to design and create enterprise wide web-based applications.
DesignBAIS supports the creation of design templates. These design templates allow for creation of a standard user interface that can be easily applied throughout an application or its modules. With drop down top menus and side bar menus as a standard feature, user navigation is simple and intuitive.
DesignBAIS was developed to create enterprise applications, not only one-off forms.

DesignBAIS provides a zero client deployment solution. Internet Explorer 6 or above is the only requirement for extended functionality. For public web sites, WC3 compliance mode (reduced feature set) makes applications available on all compliant browsers. This makes DesignBAIS applications available to everyone immediately - its simply a link.
DesignBAIS provides a conversion toolset from SB+ to make moving your application to the web even easier.
We are always on the look out for customer contributions - especially technical innovations using DesignBais. Please send your insights, comments and questions to info@designbais.com . We look forward to hearing from you!
Kind regards from all of us at DesignBais.
DesignBais introduces cross-browser compatibility for public web access
This means that you can build web applications for public consumption utilizing the DesignBais forms designer and know that they will work on all well-known browser types. Some of DesignBais" standard features are not supported by all browser types, but the restricted feature set provides more than enough functionality to design and build public-access web sites. This exciting new development provides you a "one-stop" development platform for your browser-based business applications and your public web-access requirements. You still only need to know multi-value to take advantage of DesignBais" complete web-development environment.
Other developments
Graph support for forms
This facility enables the designer to add Graphs to forms that are generated from basic code on the server. The Graph controls utilise the browser"s standard functionality, so there is no need to install any software on the client to utilize this feature.
Hyperlink Buttons
We have introduced a new style of button that provides the designer with a Hyperlink style button. This is a great feature that helps make your DesignBais applications behave the way that Internet users expect.
Date format controlled by browser
We have changed DesignBais to extract the preferred date format from the browser. This will particularly help ASP type operations where users may access the DesignBais applications with different date formats.
Case based form sections
We have modified the DesignBais form section construct to allow functionality similar to a Case statement. This provides a very powerful way to control the enabling, disabling and even hiding of fields (or entire sections) on a DesignBais form.
Optional side-menu construct
The designer now has the ability to completely hide the side menu on a DesignBais form. This feature has been developed as a result of a number of requests from DesignBais developers. There is now a menu type on the menu definition named "Hidden Side Menu" that governs this function.
Multiple language support
DesignBais now has multi-language support via its simple to use Glossary construct. Terms used on forms can be replaced by language equivalents to help give your application a truly international flavour. The glossary is linked to a user or user group, so you can have one user on English and another in Chinese on the same system.
Tab Index Navigation
DesignBais now enables the Designer to create a Tab or Entry index for every input field on a form. Again this is in response to a number of requests from DesignBais developers. You can now customise the tab/cursor movement to help make Data Entry easier. This feature helps make DesignBais a useful data entry tool for the "Heads-down" user.
DesignBais breaks the performance barrier
We have recently completed a number of scalability and performance tests with DesignBais. The results we are getting are outstanding. The following details structure and the results of one of these tests.
Hardware: Dual Pentium 4 512 MB Memory SCSII Disk array (No hardware raid or hardware caching)
Operating System: Windows 2000 Server, IIS Server
Database: Universe Release 10.1. Database residing on the same physical server and the IIS server.
Test Details: Multiple browser sessions from multiple PCs simulating screen loads from a menu selection over a 24 hour period.
Results: 3.51 million screens refreshes in a 24-hour period. Server maintained a CPU utilization of approximately 80% during the course of the test. As you can see from the above results, the architecture of DesignBais will provide outstanding performance on Hardware that may be viewed as minimal for the task.
